Counselling/psychotherapy is the skilled, principled and ethical use of relationship to facilitate self-knowledge, emotional acceptance and growth and the optimal development of personal resources. The overall aim is to provide an opportunity for people to work towards living more satisfyingly and resourcefully. While the relationship will vary according to need, it may be concerned with developmental issues, addressing and resolving specific problems, making decisions, coping with crisis, developing personal insights and knowledge, working through feelings of inner conflict or improving relationships with others. Counselling generally addresses wellness, relationships, personal growth, career development and mental health. Psychotherapy generally addresses psychological illness or distress. I’m Stacey, a compassionate and accepting Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) who believes that healing happens best in a space where you feel safe, understood, and empowered. My Cavapoo, Cocoa, is often with me in the office, ready to offer a warm welcome (and expert-level tail wags).

I blend empathy and curiosity with practical, evidence-based strategies. My approach is: * attachment-informed (understanding how our earliest relationships have shaped us), * experiential (providing healing through our therapeutic relationship), * emotionally-focused (allowing the expression of unmet emotional needs), * mindful (grounded in the here-and-now), and * cognitive behavioural (changing your thoughts to improve how you feel leading to more control over your actions).

Sessions with me often include gentle exploration, helpful psychoeducation, and tools you can use right away to support your growth.
